In accordance with the Public Information Act, Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, Harris County Universal Services makes all of its public records available to citizens.
Our online portal allows you to submit a request for public information from Harris County Universal Services. You may use the portal to track the status of your request, correspond with HCUS staff, and download your records directly.
To submit a request for public information from Harris County Universal Services, select Submit a Request.
To submit a request for public information from another Harris County department, visit Harris County 311 (opens in a new tab).
To review your prior requests or track the status of your request, select My Request Center. You may also view public records that have been disclosed in response to other requests by selecting Public Records Archive.

The Public Information Act does not require governmental bodies to create new information, perform legal research, or to answer questions. The request must ask for records or information already in existence.
